気づけば前回の更新から既に5ヶ月が経とうとしている。

そう言う私は以前の職場を離れ、この4月から古巣に戻って仕事をしている。古巣と言ってもここはこの地においてはかなり先進的な学校と言えると思う。新しい目標、新しいシステム、新しい同僚、新しい生徒、そして懐かしい生徒たちが元気をくれる。

以前の学校でもいろいろあり、様々な挑戦をしたが、システムや環境でできない事が山程あった。挑戦の途中でこちらに戻ったため、未練がないと言えば嘘になるが、トータルで見れば今回の決断に間違いはなかったと思っている。

新しく同じ学年を担当する教員達はよく言えば非常に熱心で、信頼に足る人たちばかり。悪く言えばこの学校の雰囲気に飲み込まれ過剰なまでに手を施す教員集団。やる気のない教員集団に比べれば１００倍マシだが、他校を経験した身として、その良さと「異常さ」を認識しながら仕事をしたいと考えている。

同時に、若手から中堅に変わる時期の人間として、仕事の仕方も見直したいと思っている。以前のように自分のやりたい仕事に１００パーセントを投じて夜10時過ぎても職場に残っているのも中堅としては情けない。合理化できる部分は合理化して仕事をスリム化し、若手の先生に頼れる部分は信頼して任せ、自分が責任を取るべき部分をしっかりと責任を果たす。授業の改善も楽しいが、最近はどう働くかを考える事もまた楽しい。効率的に仕事をこなし、生まれた時間を生徒のために費やしたい。

It has been almost 5 months since I posted last time.  

I have changed my school, and from this April I am back at my previous haunt.  I believe this school is advanced in this area regarding  school system, facilities, and teachers.  The new goals, new systems, new coworkers, new students, and the old students (I taught them here 5 years ago) give me new motivation for my work.  

I experienced  a lot of  things at the previous work, but I could not achieve many of them.  In the middle of those challenges, I came back here.  I left some things undone over there, but do not regret my decision to come back here.  

I would like to say a little about my new work place.  The teachers who are in charge of the same students are so conscientious that it seems that they take care of  them too much, in other words.  They are hard-working teachers, so I can trust them.  It is 100 times better than working with teachers who are not eager to work.  As a teacher who experienced another school, however, I would like to be  the one who can have a different perspective from them.     

Incidentally, now that I am currently changing  from a young worker to the core, I would like to change my work style.  It is shameful that I stay at school until ten p.m. dedicating myself to lesson planning, which is what I like the best of my work.  I am planning to simplify a large part of my work, count on younger English teachers to some degree, and take responsibility as a leader.  Of course I still enjoy lesson planning, but recently I also enjoy thinking about how I can work efficiently.  I would like to use time saved by the simplification for the sake of my students.
